I'm after an XKR Exhaust system to fit to XK (2005) if anyone has one for sale at a reasonable price.

Hi Karl, as you picked the photo from eBay I am sure you are aware that folks on there want £1000 - £2000 for a rear silencer. Have you tried speaking to the likes of Paramount Performance or Adamesh? These folks offer performance exhaust upgrades for the X150. They may have the rear silencer sitting available from a motor they upgraded, alternatively, they may offer a new upgrade for a price that compares favourably with a second hand replacement part.

Yes the example was from ebay, but I can’t justify that kind of price tag, but on the other hand I wanted a genuine article if I can.

Hi Karl, I don't believe that the XKR exhaust, as in the photo, will fit and work on your XK. The XK does not have the system to operate the active exhaust of the XKR. I may be wrong, but pretty sure that is the case.

You would need to seek out additional expertise before shelling out any monies on a purchase.

If you wanted the XK to sound "more fruity", then the simple solution is to remove the centre silencer boxes (2 off) from the car, replacing with straight through pipes. A simple and easy upgrade, which should not be too expensive.

Alternatively, speak to Dave Roche at DCR AutoParts, who may be able to advise you on your planned swap and who will also be able to guide you on the removal of the centre silencers.

It will apparently and the values can be kept open like in the picture, although with not being able to source one I might take your advice and remove the silencer boxes
