Rear Parking Sensors faulty

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

The rear parking sensors on my 2009 X-Type no longer beep when reversing close to something. (The front ones work if I click the switch located above the rear-view mirror).

Have watched a couple of Youtube videos but non the wiser.

Any ideas ?    Could it be a dirty connector or something ?

Many Thanks,

Les

Probably either a faulty sensor  or worn out module which is located in the boot near the spare wheel.

You should be able to hear the sensors clicking if you put your ear close to them when in reverse, a faulty one will be silent . Both of the above items are available on ebay but make sure you get the module for cars with front and rear sensors. Also if there is a fault the indicator light will often flash on and off and sometimes beeps to indicate they are not working.
