The car sends me a "low battery" warning. I've been told to ignore it. Any information would be appreciated.

If the battery in the car is over 5 years old, then it should be considered for a replacement. Starting the car is no longer the definitive ability to show the battery is good. There are so much sensitive electronics in a modern car, especially a Jaguar, that small spikes in the voltage can cause a lot of issues.

Short rule, never ignore warnings delivered by the car - they are all trying to tell you something. You simply need to learn how to interpret the warnings.
