Bluetooth has suddenly stopped working in 2012 XK

Featured Replies

Hi all. Based on some excellent advice from the forum I bought a Bluetooth adapter (Invery) plugged into the iPod sockets, which has worked very well allowing me to get Spotify et cetera into the car very nicely.

But after a couple of months, it has stopped working. The XK screen says ‘iPod paused’. This pretty much coincides with the upgrade on my iPhone 13 to iOS 18.5. Could be a coincidence …. but….

I’d be interested if anyone else has had the same problem recently as the adapter unit has its lights on and it’s hard to see what could’ve gone wrong inside it. Thanks so much.

Hi Gareth, could it be something as simple as the phone, post upgrade, needs to be reconnected to the Bluetooth adaptor?

Hi N6 JMX

thanks - really kind of you to come back. I’ve tried undocking / repairing / turning off / restarting phone / deleting Bluetooth links / turning round 3 time etc etc.

it’s either

- Invery unit faulty - seems unlikely

- socket to wire to radio faulty… seems unlikely

- somethings changed in stereo - unlikely

- somethings changed in Bluetooth link - possible

Do you have a similar unit - has that survived the IOS upgrade?

Thx

Hi Gavin

I don't know if you have fixed this in the last month but it was part of the IOS upgrade that caused similar problems across many brands and cars.

Apple have since run another upgrade that solved the issue.
