Hi there,

I've recently moved up from a Mondeo to an X-type. With the Mondeo, the cigar lighter (or is that cigarette lighter as it was a Mondeo :-) ) had power available all the time which proved useful when charging my phone. In my X-type the power goes off when the ignition is witched off.

Is it possible to change this in the X-type so that power is always available? I know in the Mondeo this was simply a case of moving the fuse in to an adjacent slot. This option doesn't seem to be available on the X-type.

Any ideas or alternative suggestions anyone?

Thanks for reading.

Regards

You Are now talking to a Auto Bod(SPARKS in Cars) remove Radio via 4 screws ,,top switch panel will pull off with small screw driver/covered in black tape or cloth between plastics. The hazard /heated seates/ small panel switch at top. 2x screws

At bottom the ash/ blank tray and gear knob gator, will let you see screws x2. simple Bulb tester or 12v probe will find permanent 12v for Ipod /chargers, simply cut wire on cigar/12v socket. Cover wire with insulated tape on supply from aux, power ,via key. And connect permanent supply from behind main head unit(Radio) with a simple 5 amp Brown cable to what was a Aux supply on Cigar/12v adaptor. Tip use a thick rag or Jacket over console to prevent scatches!!
