Hi members     I have a problem with my 2001 3.0 S Type. I have the ABS light on and DSC system fault on the display, it does not affect the driving of the car, but I really need to try and put this right. I have been told this is a common fault on the S Type mode .I would be greatful for any advise you could give me as im sure some of you have come across this before. I have my MOT coming up so I will have to sort this out before then. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks Mac.

Hi Ian, it could be any number of things and if you care to trawl through the forums you will find out some of them, but not necessarily your problem. One possibility is a sticking brake caliper, check the wheels and see if one has a lot more brake dust on it than the others, or give the car a run and then check the wheel temperatures to see if one is appreciably hotter when you return. If either of these prove positive the chances are you have a sticky caliper on that wheel and that will be your problem. Good luck with it mate, best wishes Geoff.

Thanks Geoff ,im going to take all the wheels off over the weekend and give all hubs and calipers a good clean and check the sensors.

Thanks again Mac

Hello Mr Mac,

I had this problem a while ago, diagnostic testing showed the fault to be the offside rear brake sensor, after replacing this the fault still persisted and was eventually found to be a washer missing from the brake sensor. I hope this helps.
