For me as long as the Continentals are as good as you indicate (check the sidewalls for any cracking / damage) as long as they are not too old I would leave them there and save the £950 for those inevitable bills. The tyre age is stamped into the sidewall as 4 digits. First 2 digits give the week number and final 2 digits the year, so 4018 would be week 40 of 2018.
