Hi Shaun. Had a similar problem with my 2008 X type. Replaced egr valve and it was ok for a couple of weeks then started the same problem again. Replaced turbo on advice from Independent Jag garage and it has been ok since. As you say it was expensive but I had it done under warranty. Good luck Cheers Rod1 point
