You don't say whether the S Type is manual or automatic. I had auto's for many many years without any problems. Then I bought a manual X Type and had to spend over £1000 having the flywheel and clutch replaced. I've now got an automatic S Type and wouldn't go back to a manual again. As for DPF, you'll find that if you just potter around town all the time you may have problems. The car needs a good blast now and then to discharge the DPF and all should be fine. Now I've given you an excuse to put your foot down!!!

Hi, Had my S Type for a couple of months now and have had a few niggling problems. One of them is that I can sit in the car and go through the procedure to activate the one touch function for the windows but as soon as I start driving the car I lose the one touch and it doesn't come back until I go through the procedure again. Then it goes again etc etc. Can anyone shed any light on what might be the problem? Thanks.

I had an X Type and agree that the headlights were very poor. Can't say the same for the S Type though as I'm more than happy with dip beam and full beam. Not sure what bulbs they are but I shall certainly replace them with the same when they blow.

Hi, On my 2nd Jaguar. The previous one was an X type diesel and have just upgraded to a late 2007 S Type 2.7D SE. Having a few minor problems with navigation and blue tooth but other than that very pleased with the car.
