    S type auto gearbox problem.

    I have a 2001 3.0 auto and just had the rear calipers off as ceased (due to lack of use being an auto) and new pads put in but now the gearbox fault comes up intermittently... I read on here that an ABS sensor can cause this, could this of been disturbed during the work? took it to a specialist gearbox place where my mate works and after a guy took it for a spin he said basically the gearbox is knackered but I keep reading that it could be some easy fix ..... the car only cost me £800 so not gonna spend huge amounts, but gutted as I just had the MOT done at £300 ffs
