Its a diesel (2.7 i think) and automatic. The garage she has it at is not very helpful at all, seeming unwilling to run diagnostic tests on it other than how it sounds. Sounds like I need to get it somewhere better :-) I've read before that a dodgy battery (and associated electrical parts) can cause these big problems. Have you guys had that before?

Hi everyone, the other day my mums s type broke down. I've attached her timeline of what happened. She got it recovered and taken to a garage (just a general garage), they really weren't helpful and just told her it was f***ed. And said it probably Was the big end gone. I went and talked to them myself and couldn't get much more out of them. The car has only done 120'000 miles and I find it hard to believe the engine has gone at this mileage (I could be wrong). So thought I'd ask here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
