Hi all I’ve just had a second hand engine ajd7g but to my disappointment it has a tapping coming from it and seems louder underneath the car and have been told it is piston slap could this be right are can it be something else?

Good afternoon Just getting car back from garage after fitting a second hand engine with 60k miles But to my disappointment it has a tapping noise and it is louder from under the car so have taken it back to the garage and they have said it is piston slap the engine is the 3L ajd7g the engine I bought came out of a Range Rover so the sump had to be swapped over so asking if this is right are could it be something else? cheers 👍

Hi all I’m at the end of my tether here I’ve a 2008 XF ajd7g I’m onto engine number 2 the car has been in the garage for 6 months now garage has just rang to say the engine is no good after fitting it they got it started and it cuts out every time so they removed the covers and have said the cam chain has snapped so can this be replaced are will it of bent the valves help much appreciated
