Sorry for the late reply but sat nav updated! I started the engine and removed the old disc. I then placed the new one in. It took no more than 5 mins to load. I initially couldn't get it to accept a post code but then realised it thought I lived in Belgium! It now appears to be working fine.

Hi guys. I'm the proud owner of a 56 S type diesel for a week now and I'm loving it. I've bought a CD to upgrade the sat nav maps from 2006 to 2012 - 13 from ebay. The sellers history was good and feed back from other jag owners saying the disc works well. It's now arrived and the instructions say that the update can take up to 50 minutes and recommend that the vehicle is running all the time to avoid a flat battery. One thing I've learnt from this forum is that a flat battery on an S type is never good!! Can anyone tell me if they have used a similar disc and does it really take this long to update? Thanks guys. Collect my S type 56 plate with 68,000 on Saturday. 42mpg is a reassuring figure to hear.
