Problem sorted turned out that o/s/f coil spring had broken. Now fixed and all OK. Thank you for all the help and suggestions, much appreciated.

Hi Everbody, My first time post so please forgive if this has been asked before. I have had a 2009 2.2d SE x-type for 3 years and I love it. After going over a number of shallow potholes on a motorway a few weeks ago I noticed an intermittent knocking coming from underneath. I took the car to the garage I always use (They are Jag trained) and asked them to have a look. They said they couldn't find anything that might have caused the knocking apart from the exhaust being a bit loose and when I asked if they could do anything about it their reply was apart from replacing the exhaust no! They did find that one of the brake calipers was leaking which I had replaced. I'm still getting this intermittent knocking if I go over a bit of rough road and it worries me. Anybody else experienced this or any ideas? Many thanks Don

Hi I got a spare key yesterday it is not a original jaguar key and it doesn't have a button for switching on the headlights but it locks and unlocks and starts the engine so is fine as a spare. The cost? Including programming only £100.00. Great stuff. If I'd just wanted a microchipped key it would have only been £46.00. If you want the name of the garage let me know. Thanks again Don

Hi I've recently bought a 2006 x-type 2.2 hdi SE and I love it. Only problem is that it only came with one key. I rang a Jaguar main dealer and they quoted well over £200.00. That's one hell of a price for a spare. Does anybody know how or where I can by a spare fob and key any cheaper? Any help would be appreciated Don
