I purchased a new Jaguar XES in July and went for the 20" low profile wheels with Pirelli tyres - Big Mistake !! In less than 6,000 miles driven I have had to replace four - yes 4 tyres !!! I have driven performance saloons for many years - BMW M3, Audi RS4, Lexus ISF - In the past 15 years I have driven over 300,000 miles in these cars and never had one tyre problem other then normal replacement. Why have I had to replace these tyres - potholes - but fairly minor potholes that are unavoidable in everyday driving. Two potholes have burst the tyres and two have put bulges in the side walls requiring replacement. It shows that the potholes are relatively minor as the wheels have not been damaged at all. I would like to know if anybody else has suffered the same issues with these tyres. The car is fabulous but these tyres are simply not fit for purpose. I am sure they are very good track tyres but this a a road car. I am considering changing all four tyres for another make as at this rate I could get through 16 tyres in a year PS - I am listed as having an XF but this is because there is no XE on the listing yet ? My advice if you are considering a XES - go for the 19" wheels.
