radiator blown and no reverse

long time!I have an x type auto 2001,2.5l V6 petrol which blows its radiator some weeks ago,anyone with an idea of the cause!will appreciate much.

Another problem is with my reverse,do I have to change the whole gearbox or there is another way.I leave far away from the jag dealer and they charge an arm and leg

Need a little more information to go on with the radiator John, what was going on at the time? have it boiled? have you filled and looked for leaks? Could be corrosion, could be a stone entering through the grill damaging the cores have you checked for any damage?

I changed the plastic tanks to alumnium.the plastic tank was leaking.It blows off after a month of fitting the alumnium ,it does not have a history of overheating
