Buzzing/Rapid clicking from front of car

Featured Replies

Hi All

Have just picked up a 2004 X Type Estate 2.5 AWD - 75k on the clock, all in great condition, full service history etc etc. Only had it a few days but have noticed an odd problem and was wondering if it was a known issue before I dig too much into it myself.

A couple of times when I've stopped, there's quite a loud ticking/buzzing noise from the front of the car - seems to be in around the radiator/AC condensor area. Seems to last about 5 minutes then stops. No other issues to report, no nosies from inside the car or anything.

My gut instinct is its something to do with the AC given the location - the previous owner said it could do with a regas.. it's too cold at the moment to ascertain if it actually works properly but the compressor does engage when you press the button.

Any thoughts or pointers would be good. Thanks!
