Now decided to buy a pre wired relay and run from battery so it conforms with regulations

Other way to do it, if I remember correctly, is to run them off the connector off the back of the battery box.

Hi Ian, Is that the wire that doesn't seem to do anything other than clip into the battery tray

Hi Ian, just found what that connector was for, "Jaguars since the late 1980's have Battery Isolation Devices and the ignition switch has a circuit to energize the relay. Once the device is removed by the Selling Dealer, the device is removed and sent back to Jaguar for re-installation. The wire is tucked back into the harness or plugged into a non conductive harness connector". I am going to test to see if it works off the ignition.

Isn't it illegal to have fog-lights on when not foggy ??

I remember many years ago being stopped by the police because I had them on and was told to turn them off.

If you're using them as DRLs, then you may get pulled up, unless that law has been rescinded.

Currently I have them as Led DRL's not Foglights via a relay which turn them off when headlights come on, which is I am told is the current regulation, but I still see new vehicles with both on at the same time.
