Keyless Lock System

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.   I am looking for clarification on controlling keyless entry system.  My issue is for a 2007 S-Type.  I can unlock all doors remotely with my key. All doors except the driver door will respond to the keyless remote, but won't stay unlocked more than a second, because the driver door didn't unlock.   I am aware of others having issues along the same lines but didn't see any answers.  I believe the problem must be in the driver door remote actuator, or the driver door control module.  If anyone can cast a light to my question, it would be appreciated. I would hope to avoid having to buy two parts, if only the one is needed.

Regards,

Hi Ron,

Welcome to the club! Has the car been in constant use or off the road, and did it fail suddenly or get worse over time?

I had a similar issue with mine which was improved by removing the door panel and checking and lubing everything. If it was a sudden failure it could point to one of the components you mention, but if not, it could be a lack of use issue and just require some TLC. Taking the door panel off for a fettle and check can't be a bad call, you'll either fix it, or have a better idea what's not working.

Hope this helps, Russ

Hi Russ,  Thanks for your response.  Your right! It can't hurt to give it a try. Didn't occur to me that it could be as simple as a lubrication issue.

I will let you know what happens.
