Xjr completely lost stop lamps

Featured Replies

I have a 1998 jagaur XJR supercharged it has 60k miles on it. I got it from old people.

I have completely lost rear break lights, running lights, flashers. I can put 12v directly to the lights and they turn on.

I have had the BCM check and the security and locking control module rebuilt. After all of this it still makes no difference. My key fob also failed at the same time as I list break lights. I also have no rear 3rd break light.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Check to see the transponder aerial cable is connected to the security module.

Mine was unconnected after having some welding done on the back wings and the key fob would only operate when I was standing right next to the o/s rear wing. Once reconnected normal six-foot service was resumed. The connector is visible between the fuse box (the security module sits underneath it) and battery, the cable has a push fix connection like a sat-nav/DAB aerial.

No brake lights at all sounds like the pedal switch.
