hello. new to the group as just bought myself a s type 3ltr v6 jaaaag. had many jags over the years but never  a s type. seems to be a good motor foe sayi ng i only paid 200 quid for it. it needed all the brakes done, two track rod ends and two brake pipoes for the test so im well chuffed. few little niggles tho . only to be expected on a w reg car lol. firstly when it goes into top gear , 5 sp auto. it feels like it has a wee judder. check oil level and its gushing out making me think someone has over filled the box. going to change g box oil and filter and hopefully it cures it as all other gears are fine and a lovely smooth gear chang but i am wondering about the low fuel warning on the dash . it was low so i put fuel in and now gauge is reading half full which would be about right for the amount i put in but the range still reads around 49 miles and the low fuel warning is still on the dash. any known fixes or is it to do with the sender?

Hi Alun

You certainly got a bargain there!

I wonder if it would benefit from a Battery reset procedure which may reset the fuel level readout, along with other readings/settings which may be inaccurate....worth a try as no cost involved.  See the topic in Guides section of this forum

Cheers  Trevor

How many miles have you travelled since filling up? Whilst the fuel gauge should read the correct level the range calculation often needs some input as to your driving characteristics.  Hence if you are light footed you will get a higher indicated range than if you are heavy footed.  It may therefore take a few miles for you to get an updated reading.
