Three Part Breather Hose?

Would be grateful for any input.

I am a little concerned that the hose in the pic attached is not as it was when it left the factory, as it seems to be in three separate pieces and not exactly the neatest bit of pipework I have ever seen.  The hard plastic centre section is quite easy to move between the end rubber fittings and as you can see, doesn't fit into the rubber ends up to the hilt on one side. 

Although the ends appear to be a fairly tight fit, I am also surprised that it is just pushed on and has no clips! Can anyone advise if this is ok?
