X-Type 2.1 Engine Number

Featured Replies

I am new to the forum, but am having trouble getting a few things fixed.  I need to find my Engine number and having difficulties.  The car is a 2007, 2.1L petrol X-Type Jag, Right Hand Drive, and there seem to be lots of suggestions as to where to find the number.  Are any visible to the naked eye?  Any suggestions please.

Bill

Have you looked at your V5 registration document?..........both the VIN number and engine number will appear on there.

Often the simplest solution comes out on top!

Good luck

Thanks, Carole, but I know what the engine number is supposed to be, but it needs to be verified by the mechanic who is doing an inspection for registration purposes.

Hi Bill and Welcome to the Club,

Check out the picture/link below which may help.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks, Mate, I'll check it out as soon as I can.

I found it (or, really my mechanic did). It is on the right hand side of the engine, viewed from below,  just above the exhaust, and next to the oil filter, on the engine web.  So easy to see after you know where it is....  Thank you for suggestions.

It just goes to show, you can always rely on the documentation to point you in the wrong direction. Ah well, who reads the instructions anyway?

Cheers,

Steve

So am I right , you need to access the  engine number from underneath the car?? I thought my Suzuki  Mighty Boy was bad enough. If so under the car I go. thanks for the help
