2017 xf boot won’t open

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I was in the process of changing the battery and had the old battery disconnected and boot lid shut on me and now with no power to the boot release button I can’t get the boot lid open again. I don’t have the back seat drop down option in my model so no way of getting into the boot.

Any help would be great.

Try this it may help,

Do you have the metal (laser cut) key in your key fob?

if so, this will open it manually in key slot above license plate.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Unfortunately my model doesn’t have the manual key slot above the number plate. However I managed to attach a set of jump leads to the positive terminal in the bonnet and that sent enough power to the boot release button to allow it to open.
