Hi Guys,

My wife's XK o/s RH outer rear light unit has failed. The 'C' shaped set of LEDs has stopped working, all other LEDs are working fine ie. brake, indicator and outer position lights.  She has owned the car for about a year now, when we bought it some (3-4) of the individual LEDs were not working from the 'C' shape but rest of them were, now all of them have failed.  Having looked extensively for a second hand unit without success I am wondering if anyone has any experience of repairing these units?  As last resort I will need to buy a replacement from the 'stealership' but I think they cost around £1,000, hence the need to repair.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just to be clear, is this the light on the boot lid or the one that fits into the wing. The one for the bootlid is less than £200 from Jaguar, not sure on the big one.

As for repairing them, it can be done though you may be better finding an electronics repair firm to do it for you.

Thanks for your reply, it’s the outer light unit in the wing.  The inner light you quoted seems a reasonable price, I’ll call jaguar on Monday to check the price.

It’s always worth checking with Jaguar first, I’ve been pleasantly surprised on numerous occasions. At least you will know you have a genuine, fully working part.
