X351 2012 V8 petrol (normally aspirated) - recommended engine oil specification?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has done a DIY engine oil change on an X351 2012 V8 petrol (normally aspirated) engine, what engine oil did you prefer?

The handbook states a 5w 20 specification WSS-M2C925A oil and recommends Castrol as a brand.

I've hunted out the following as candidates:

Castrol Edge Professional 5W 20 (BUT - this seems difficult to find - and EuroCar Parts not in stock as at March '21)

Shell Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W 20 (yes this is available)

Liqui Moly Special Tec LR 5W 20 (again hard to find anywhere with any stock)

Halfords own brand 5W 20 Eco Fully Synthetic Oil (seems perfect, on the label it states:  WS-M2C925-A and also Jaguar Land Rover STJLR.03.5004 so should be ideal)
