XF diesel 3L diesel 275bhp radiator fan replacement 2009 -help please

Featured Replies

Hi,

My car started to lose coolant and the AC worked intermitted times. The DPF then showed red and full. I took my car to a nearby Jag enthusiast who told me the fan was faulty. I had it removed and tested by Bristol Auto Electric who said the PCB was faulty and they could not repair it. The guy helping me with the repair then got a price for a complete fan assembly including the motor / fan and housing at ~£650. The actual fan motor itself is Johnson Gate 500.0761 and I have a spare one off Ebay @£30. I'd rather fit a new one if possible.

I have spoken to Revotec and asked if they do a kit to convert to different fan. They have no solution off the shelf but are looking in to it. BTW I have a Rover 75 and this is retro fitted with an excellent Revotec fan that cost me ~£160 and replaces the Siemens fan BMW fitted. The Siemens fans were known to fail at around 60k miles but luckily my Rover is a diesel and these are more resilient to the dreaded HGF which killed so many Rover petrol V6 engines.

If anyone knows where I can a new fan motor I'd be really grateful. Many thanks,

Jim
