Hi guys,

just wondering if anybody found anywhere that could replace this part without removing the entire engine?
My 2015 XE has had this fault for a while now and I’ve been quoted anything from £1200-£2200 to have it done as I’ve been told that the engine needs to be removed to access the part.

I am more than happy to travel anywhere in the country if it can be done in situ and save me a tonne of cash!! 🤞

Thank for all of the replies chaps. 😂😂

anyway, hopefully next time somebody has this they may find it interesting that I have been in touch with quiet a few Jaguar specialists and ALL have said that this solenoid can be replaced WITHOUT removing the entire engine.

I have mine booked in for the 25th January snd it will cost £400 instead of the massive £1600-£2000 I was quoted by a garage that would have removed the engine.

I’ll post again once it’s done to let anyone who’s interested know how is went.

Good effort for getting in touch with jaguar and not paying the first price, shame no one got back to you but I’ve got a jag and can’t seem to find much information so I assume your one of the first to post about this😂

what update do you have did it fix the problem? Also what symptoms did you have other than just engine light e.g. running rough, excessive fuel consumption..?

All good with the car now. I think it’s always sounded a bit “industrial “ but I’m happy with it now i havnt had to pay the quoted £1600-£2200.

The only symptom was the engine light to be honest. But I’ve not drove another XE, which may show something I’m not aware of as the car isn’t the quickest considering its 200BHP.
