Hi people,

Can someone suggest a solution to this problem, I have a 2009 facelift model X Type with a 2.1 litre petrol engine. It has done just over 62,000 kilometers so low mileage for its age.

When I turn the key to on, the coolant fans immediately start running and run continuously until about 10 seconds after I switch the key off again at the end of my journey.

I suspected the Fan Control Module so changed it, no result, then I checked the coolant temperature sensor, no result, the car warms up promptly and shows no sign of overheating so I don't think the thermostat is faulty. the coolant level is right on the button. I also did a hard reset of the ECU, which actually improved the running of the car, but didn't change the problem.

I am at a loss as to what to look at next!

Any ideas welcome!

Yes, tried it with A/C and without, no change. I think the module I replaced might be faulty, it seems it came from China and the symptoms I am having seem to be common for modules manufactured there,
