A week ago my SType was affected by flooding, from a nearby river. The car has had about 6 inches of water in the footwells, and the driving seat will not return to its normal position rendering the car undrivable. Is there some way of moving it back manually? Or do I need to remove it?

Unfortunately you do not have a ”service connection” to enable remote movement of the seat and there is no way to manually move them.

You will therefore have to remove it and then apply 12v to the motor in order to move it. Assuming of course the motor has not been damaged by the water.
