So I recently got my hands on a 2005 Jaguar S-Type 4.2 L V8.  I was told she had a small coolant leak, because the part was starting to go bad. Ok no problem no issues during test drive... But once on the highway above 50 mph she started overheating, stopped and checked. Overflow was full but I had air coming the circled area, where the orange is.... AutoZone couldn't tell me because my photo wasn't good enough... This is supposed to be my daily driver and I can't driver her, I barely got her home... I know what I bought but I'm still crossing my fingers 🤞🏻 that it's not a super expensive fix...

My advice would be do not drive it until you have sorted the leak as you risk serious damage. The V8 is known to have issues with both its water pump and pipe work. Both are relatively cheap and easy to fix. The plastic fittings (such as elbows) used in the cooling system tend to crack with age so if one has gone you might want to consider replacing all of them at the same time for peace of mind. The S Type is a lovely car but it is 20 years old so if using as a daily driver you need to get ahead of the game and make sure you address issues as soon as they arise or ideally do the preventative maintenance to stop them arising in the first place.

I hope you get it sorted and enjoy driving it as much as I enjoy my 21 yr old X Type.

Thanks yeah I guess it's the piece behind the thermostat pump, that bolts to engine.  Replacing the whole thermostat housing assembly, and then I'll move to the pump.  He did say he had replaced it not long, the pump, but from experience sometimes things just go bad...  But yeah my beautiful Jag will be sitting til I fix her. My daughters not too happy as I'm using her car, but with what I paid, I'm not mad, just frustrated his 'fix' didn't work.
