Hi

New member

Anyone have experience with installation of a peripheral alarm. Possibly a Viper system? Convertible XK. Thank you

I haven't installed a Viper system myself, but make sure to follow the wiring diagrams carefully and check compatibility with your XK. Hopefully, someone here has more direct experience. Good luck!

Hi Brandi, not sure what you are meaning by a "peripheral" alarm system, Your 2011 XK convertible is already outfitted with a "perimeter" alarm as well as an intrusion sensor alarm. The perimeter alarm works on all openings into the vehicle - doors, bonnet (hood) and boot (trunk). The intrusion sensor works to determine if anything is moving around inside the vehicle - such as a pet. If you drop the hood and then double lock the vehicle by pressing the lock button on the fob twice (x2), the full alarm will be set. Then try reaching into the vehicle to pick up a cap or sweater resting on the rear seat and the alarm will be set off.

Refer to your owners handbook for more details - typically around page 27 - 28.
