XE petrol, 250hp, auto, (X760) 2018, only done 32K. Whilst driving back from Southampton in the UK, battery and charging system error pops up on dashboard. A/C stops working so I turn it off. Charging message disappears. Turn A/C on again, still not working but charging error reappears. I start to smell something hot, burning. Got close to home and engine overheating warning pops up. Lots of blue smoke behind car. Reverse into my driveway and stop engine. Serious amount of smoke, lift bonnet and coolant bubbling away. Left vehicle alone for about 3 hours to allow it to cool down. Returned to the car and found the problem straight away. Crankshaft pulley has become detached from its hub and the grooved outer part has slipped forwards. The charging, A/C and water pump were not being driven by the slipping grooved outer part of the pulley. So, that's the problem. I'm quite capable of doing the work myself but there is a lack of information in the form of workshop manuals or even my usual goto, YouTube. Can anyone offer advice or direct me to a source of material that would step me through the process of swapping the crankshaft pulley on an XE Sport 250?
