X type valve cover gasket

Featured Replies

Hi all, has anyone had an oil leak from the valve cover on a 2.1 V6 x type and changed the gasket? Is it a diy job or am I best booking it in the local Jag specialists?

Hi all, and thanks again to all who shared the knowledge on this subject........ again NONE of you lol.

Ended up booking it in a Jaguar specialists and they identified the problem as a corroded rocker cover, FYI this problem does not seem to affect the rear rocker cover.

Managed to procure one off a 2005 model in a breakers yard for £20, the local Stratstone Jag dealer charges £150.

If anyone else has this problem be sure to order the spark plug well inner seal as well as the rocker seal as they don't come as a "seal kit" like on other vehicles.
