This situation has happened intermittently about 6 times over the past few months. Had the car about 3 years without any problems.

5. In Speedo box displays ‘Engine system fault’

6. Gearbox light comes on, on dash

7. In Speedo box displays ‘Gearbox fault’

8. In Speedo box displays ‘Limp home mode’

9. Stopped car

10. Put car into reverse from drive to get off main road and park up

11. Car shuddering.

12. Stopped car and put into park

13. Tried to put into drive but gear lever would not move

14. Switched off at ignition

15. 15 minutes later switched on ignition and started engine, drove off with no problems.

It has been to a Jag main dealer who haven't a clue, there's nothing on the computer, but say if it happens again ring us. However, as it apparently resets itself, I can't see how it can be diagnosed. Going back into Jaguar tomorrow for them to try again as it happened again yesterday. They have not charged me for their time - as yet.

Anyone any ideas?
