I know that my 2.7 Diesel (2005) has a seperate heater on to speed up coolant but does anybody know what is involved with it, the problem is the unit produces lots of smoke and smells of unburnt diesel (and seems to cost a lot to run) I assume it will need replacing if so has anybody changed one of thede pumps and what was the cost.

Thanks

No expierence of your particular problem, but I do know that VW & Ford have similar systems, and that the problem u describe is caused by a failed sensor.
