Basingstoke College of Technology Jaguar Restoration Project

Featured Replies

Members of the Jaguar Owners Club,

We are writing to ask for help in publicizing an interesting project that the Automotive Technologies department of Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) and the Rotary Club of Basingstoke are working on. We are restoring a 1984 Jaguar XJS Cabriolet. The car is a limited edition model being one of only three built with a Burberry trim. Our objectives from this exercise are to provide:

  • a means of raising funds for charities which will include Spotlight,Riding for the Disabled and North Waltham & Basingstoke Mencap
  • the students with an opportunity to showcase their skills in a manner that benefits the community by demonstrating excellence in vehicle restoration;
  • the students with opportunities in Project Management, Marketing & Communications,
    Social Media Skills and Fundraising
  • enhanced working relationships between BCoT, Rotary and the supporting organisations by demonstrating effective interworking and how this provides benefits to the ommunity;
  • positive publicity for BCoT, Rotary and the supporting organisations;

With this in mind, we would be most grateful if we could count on your help. We are grateful for all offers of support and are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who would like to sponsor the restoration work with a view to acquiring the vehicle once it is complete.

If you are interested in the project please drop an email to [email protected] and we will email you a brief presentation on the project, which is unfortunately too large to be attached here.

Yours sincerely,

Anthony Bravo
