Hi Jason, as far as I know, all of the original functionality remains with the Cartronics set up, uses the existing display screen just adds additional capability.
If you have now joined the XKCC, the website has a couple of reviews of both Cartronics and Mr 12 Volt systems, check them out.
On the tyres question on your other post: Dunlop and Pirelli are the "development" tyre brand for the XKR and you are correct in wanting to ditch the Continentals, never been happy with cars with those fitted. Plus, any tyre over 5 years old these days is suspect on something with +500 BHP.
