Hi all, I need to replace the SIM card in my 2017 XF-S. I've tried two already and both are politely declined by the car, either not compatible (Vodafone) or can't be read (forget the brand of this one). Is there a SIM provider that's guaranteed to work in the XF. Any help gratefully received! Cheers! Jon

Hi Roy, Well,I’m 69 and now on my second XF. First was an X250 3.0S portfolio (2011). Current one is an X260 3.0 S, loaded with options. To choose between the two is a bit like choosing between your children! First had a better, but dated interior compared to 5e current one. But the current one is loaded with toys and is much, much more fun to drive. Haven’t tried a non sport version of either, so sorry, can’t comment on whether they’re worth it, but if you want performance and handling but with a supple ride, neither will disappoint. so…. Hi Bryn, Mine is a Vodafone 4G SIM, it shows up as such, but I'm unsure whether it's data only or not (most likely it is!). I went with Vodafone since our phones are on Vodafone SIMs so it keeps billing simple. Good luck! Jon

Hi Bryn, I also have a ‘17 XF-S and have a Vodafone SIM in its slot. What I’ve found is that it connects fine, but after the car has been switched off for a while (wife in the shops, etc.!) it annoyingly disconnects. Could this relate to your situation? Cheers, Jon

Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest the source of a droning sound coming from the left rear of my 2017 XF-S 3.0D. I'm thinking it must be exhaust related since it happens at any speed and in any gear, even when stationary and gently revved. It isn't particularly annoying, but it is beginning to bug me! Any suggestions gratefully received! Cheers, Jon

Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice, just had a message telling me that my brake pads are worn. Does anyone have an idea of how far I have left to drive before they really have to be replaced. Looking to make a trip to see in-laws before Christmas! Cheers, Jon

Hi John, If getting to Pulborough, West Sussex is possible for you, I'd recommend a chat with the people at Arun Automotive. They're an independent Jaguar specialist and have the 'proper' Jaguar code readers. Also not as expensive as a main dealer. Good luck! Jon

Hi Gary, I also have a 2017 XF. We may not have the same satnav system (mine doesn't use DVDs - it's a download to PC, copy to USB and load from the USB to the car). My subscription to Here (the map provider) via Jaguar cost £129, but that's for three years of multiple downloads covering UK, all of Europe and, bizarrely, Russia. The maps are updated regularly (at least monthly), but I probably get them once every three months or so. Hope that's of some help. Cheers, Jon
