hi kevin had same problem well problems was told all sort of things from jaguar ,arnold clark and the likes even got jlr software from topix at a price for to use for 1 day and mate has his own garage nothing even recallibrating all modules still dead was told it might be the laser so took it to electronics expert he said might be so went on ebay and bought second hand dvd unit for 75 quid from just jags arrived at xmass so put it in car bingo started to load dvd maps after 20 mins back to square one was absolutely gutted so phoned them back up told them what happened they said we will send another one up 7 days later put it in car after 35 mins everything working like new so bought a new disc and it still works so ive got just jags to thank for that now the jag stays hope this was of help paddy

loved my jag for three weeks now a bit undecided hopefully you guys can help me and change my mind always wanted one so took a chance and bought a sport 56 plate but because of navigation system interfering with heating and cd player i am now a bit peeved off cos it is bril to drive and extreemly comfy on long or short trips a lot better than my merc but ill see what happens

thanks for file and positive feedback but these are the things i tried but seemingly according to taggarts it need a reprogramme of sorts ,they said it was not just a case of putting in new disc quoted me 100 quid before they fix it ,i dont know what is inside dvd unit but i have a good mind to open it up and see if its a hard drive of sorts try and plug it into pc or laptop as i have all the cables to check hard drives and see if i can put disc contents straight into module then they can work for their money cheers guys will keep you informed

just recieved new 2011 2012 disc and still nothing working looks like a trip to jaguar and if it costs me money just to get heating sorted out the car goes so if anybody wants a 2006 s type sport 78000 miles in silver then look no further price will follow

i have same problem everything worked fine inserted navigation disc 2007-2009 then no radio no heating controls clock wrong time correct disc according to jaguar they say i have to try a newer disc if not it needs a new one ,i heard there is a disc to reset firmware on navigation unit which i will try to find out about
