Can anyone tell me if the crankshaft pulley and tensioner replacement on an X type 2.0d is a job that can be done by an amateur mechanic. I have some mechanical experience. I have recently changed the EGR valve successfully. Or alternatively if there is a reasonably priced mechanic in the North Birmingham area.

Could it be "pinking". I'd try I'd try filling up with either Shell or BP's top grade fuel and see if it goes away. Regards Allen

Hello everyone. I've recently bought a 2007 x type 2.0d SE, and I've already found the owners club very helpful. Unfortunately my car has the hot start issue, so I plan to get it serviced on Monday, then I will be booking it in for a Terraclean, Hopefully this will resolve the problem. I live in Great Barr Birmingham, can anyone recommend a garage that does Terraclean in the Walsall or West Bromwich area. I'll let you know how things go.
