  4. Hi David, Luckily I have found a local specialist who plugged it in, and turned out the the wiring harness of the compressor was slightly pushed off of its place. I just hade to push it back until it clicked and all is sorted. I hope you will have the same easy fix! Xander
  5. Morning Xander I have a 2012 XJ and am also getting a suspension fault warning. the local garage told me there is nothing wrong with the suspension so I was wondering whether you had found out what your issue was. David
  6. Does anyone know of anywhere in North Wales that could sort out a saggy roof lining out. Thanks.

  8. I was using a long thin blade kitchen knife under the cassette to release it, and get it out. I was at a car stereo repair shop to get it fixed. After he got the player unit out, it took the guy all of 10 minutes to fix it. No parts needed to be replaced. No more CD's jamming, the 6-disk cassette kicks out easily. The issue is in the unit, not the cassette. Grease gets dried out and sticky was his answer. I'll let someone who's taken CD players apart and knows what they are doing handle it.

  11. Sorry for delay…. I’ve bought it after 3 years in a Barn drove 120 miles home and then the fun begins! It’s a project but a rust free virtually project!
  12. Hi all, Watched a video about the F pace on YouTube and the presenter highlighted the inconsistent indicator speed, Checked my own and it too is inconsistent, In the old days (🙄) it was controlled by a relay, Question is, is the F pace also controlled by a relay ?, and can it be rectified?, as I feel it may become annoying.
  13. Hi Steven, have you checked the fuses and, most importantly, the earth point for the offending items. Sounds very much like a bad earth connection point, probably corrosion at this time of year. N6 JMX

  19. Washer pump not working, it only getting 4 V and my front driver side front lamp not working, took it to my local garage two days later they said go and find a Jag specialist, I live in Derbyshire. I could do with some good advice?
  20. Hi Ross, good progress. Your photos are too much of a close-up. Need a wider area shot to get better context. Hard to pinpoint the area you are talking about from the detail shots. N6 JMX

  22. I have an idea that if they refurbed the keys did they replace the key body? If they did there are two transceivers within the key body. Missing out the PATS transceiver would result in being unable to link with the car.

I've found the source of the leak in the inside of the boot. However it is above the light cluster and boot slam vents. It's coming in between two metal joins but on the outside of the boot there is no join in that area. Are there any known areas of water ingress from the top side of the boot it might be travelling down?

  25. Hello. I'm from Lithuania. So I apologize, because I write a lot with google translate. We bought a Jaguar xf, 2009, 3.0 petrol. 175kW. Everything was great for 6 months, but recently there has been a problem that it throws out of gear. When starting to move in "R" for about 1 meter, "P" switches on with a crack. The selector indicator remains "R", only it flashes. Then you need to switch to "N" or "P" to be able to move. If you start from "D", also after moving a little, "D" starts flashing and you find yourself in "N". The revs can be raised, but the car stands still. This is not an everyday problem, sometimes we can drive without problems for a whole week, and sometimes I can't move from the yard. I have scanned errors with LAUNCH and got the code U0405-8f invalid data received from speed control module. I checked the abs sensors and I sometimes get all these problems while standing. I'll explain, I start the car, turn on "R" and don't move anywhere, after 15-20 seconds with a click "R" flashes, and it feels like the box has switched to "P" Thanks for your thoughts, guesses and advice. Forgive me if any of the expressions are incorrect. Age is no longer the same as learning :)
  26. REGISTRATION IS SD62UTE, private plate has now been removed. For sale is my 2012 Jaguar XJ 3.0 Supercharged petrol Portfolio. It's been superbly looked after and is an exceptional example. The rare supercharged ULEZ/CAZ compliant engine provides a brilliant combination of performance and economy. The car is one of the best colour combinations; British Racing Green with Ivory and grey piped leather interior. Being a Portfolio it's a fantastic spec with heated and cooled seats both front and rear, Meridian Surround sound system, panoramic moon roof, 20 inch alloys, adaptive Xenon headlights, suede headliner, dual view TV in the front, digital dashboard, rear reverse camera and 4 way climate control. I have owned the car for 18 months and am only selling due to increased work mileage. The car has been meticulously maintained with full main dealer and specialist history, and in the last 12 months I have spent over 5,000 ensuring it wants for nothing, including: Air suspension compressor Full discs and pads all round Water pump and Y-pipe (known weakness on these engines - now done for peace of mind) New caster arm bushes Two new rear tyres Major service in May 2025 Car is in fantastic condition inside and out, with just one nick in the rear passenger side wheel which I've pictured. £9,495

  30. hello Jim, It is just the satnav and all 3 garages have played around endlessly with the disc player, to no avail. I like the idea of hooking up my Android 'phone to get Maps etc, so I will check out Cartonics etc. Thanks for your advice, I'll let you know how I get on.
  31. Hi Jason, as far as I know, all of the original functionality remains with the Cartronics set up, uses the existing display screen just adds additional capability. If you have now joined the XKCC, the website has a couple of reviews of both Cartronics and Mr 12 Volt systems, check them out. On the tyres question on your other post: Dunlop and Pirelli are the "development" tyre brand for the XKR and you are correct in wanting to ditch the Continentals, never been happy with cars with those fitted. Plus, any tyre over 5 years old these days is suspect on something with +500 BHP. N6 JMX
  32. Thank you Adrian and Joe for your responces to my query. I am exploring the "separate module/antenna for the for the remotes" approach to see if i can find what needs repairing / replacing.
  33. Hi Jason For me as long as the Continentals are as good as you indicate (check the sidewalls for any cracking / damage) as long as they are not too old I would leave them there and save the £950 for those inevitable bills. The tyre age is stamped into the sidewall as 4 digits. First 2 digits give the week number and final 2 digits the year, so 4018 would be week 40 of 2018. Enjoy your new toy. John
  34. Hi All, I just wanted to say thanks for all your comments, they’ve been very helpful. Thanks, Nigel
