  5. Just had my car, XJ L Autobiography in the garage as the service indicator keeps coming in and counting down very quickly. The garage have said this is due to abnormal oil dilution due to the DPF regen not performing properly. The car is driven on both long and short journeys. It has only done 58000. Any suggestions please as to what might be causing this?

  7. Just going through youtube looking for solutions to fix my totally defunct CD player, I found this. Think I prefer it to the last Jag advert 😂😂😂
  8. Might be worth checking if there's a separate receiver/antenna module for the keyless entry that's failed. I've heard of cases where the door module and receiver are two different components.
  9. I've had good luck with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on my older X type - they handle well in the wet and last a decent amount of time.
  10. Sounds like the light switch stalk itself might be faulty since you're getting backwards behavior with lights coming on when it's "off" - might be worth checking if the stalk connector is clean or if the switch needs replacing.
  11. To me it sounds like the pedestrian detection sensor in the front bumper is likely the culprit, especially since pulling the F36 fuse (which probably disables that system) made it go away temporarily - hope the garage already resolved it!

  13. Hi Philip Hopefully the garage will be able to sort it. Just a thought but was the 2022 replacement battery an AGM? If it was replaced with a flooded cell battery it could well have failed or even a cheap AGM may have started to fail if it has been subject of frequent stop/start cycles. Good luck John
  14. Had a new battery in 2022, fault disappeared after removing F36 fuse in rear BCM but has now started doing it again but now undriveable as it cuts out all the time :( so fault went away for 10 months. Garage is looking at it today hopefully its just a failing sensor behind the front bumper area. Also never had any of the random error messages since the new battery and corroded pins fix.

  16. Hi fellas. Got a strange issue with headlights. With stalk in 'auto' position..... nothing, just two little dot running lights. Same when stalk is in both headlight and side light positions. When stalk is in 'off' position, sidelights come on. Don't get it. Ive checked fuses and relays, all good. Help please.

  18. Hi...welcome to the Club I'm sure the majority of members have their preferences but all I would say is to get the best you can for your money. Avoid any budget tyres, go mid-range or premium quality, so brands such as Dunlop, Continental, Pirelli, Michelin and quite a few others Let us know how you get on with your tyre choice

  23. Hi all, I have had my XF sport (2017) for 7 years now. I have had a few minor issues in that time but now my electric tailgate won't close. it started making some clunking and wirring noises after someone tried closing it manaully instead of using the push button for electric closing ( a non driving person). Now after a few weeks of intermittent failure during closing where in it would stop and re-open as if something was preventing closing, it now refused to move from the fully open position. I have sprayed some lube on the hinges in case that was the issue but I suspect maybe the struts or one of them is kaput. Has anyone ever stripped one of these struts down and repaired them?

  25. I have a 2006 S-Type. The buttons on one of the remotes started to fail so it was refurbished and I then took both keys to a local independant Jag garage that has the Jaguar computer to get it repaired with the car. The sequence was followed, first clearing the car of any keys and then repairing them both together. The clear worked but the 2 x remotes won't pair with the car. Now I have no working remotes. It was determined there must be a fault with the module in the drivers door. A replacement module was sourced and I fitted it myself before heading to a different Jag dealer with the necessary equipment to pair the keys. Same thing happend, the sequence is followed, both keys were paired and the process completes with no errors shown on the computer. However the same result, neither key is paired with the car. Anyone come across this before or know what to try next?

  31. I am wanting to buy a 2007/2008 XKR. Looked at one yesterday. Very nice car! Any advice of any potential problems or issues I should be aware of. I would be very grateful of any sensible advice, as I don't want to buy a problem car! Thanks.
  32. Hey all, I'm thinking of buying an F-type R coupe, and just wondering what else people considered specifically coupe owners prior to F-type R. And what made you go for F-type over something else
  33. Put them on eBay for £1, buyer collects.
  34. HI. My temperature gauge in dash does not register unless I am in heavy traffic: motorway cruising and it stays at bottom of dial. I think its the sensor either stuck or broke and for the price of another on I want to replace it: however asking how easy or difficult that is in terms of access from the top of the engine? Thanks
  35. Hi - I've seen this fault discussed a lot under x250 motors but not x260 as the design of the routes for the wiring is different. My car is showing the boot lid as not shut when it is and I believe its a wire fault in the loom - however I cannot find a supplier for a new loom - not sure I want to get into ebay unless necessary. Could anyone point to a supplier or got a solution by experience? Thanks
  36. finally sorted it, and it was such a simple fix, if anyone experiences this problem here are the simple steps to fix the issue, 1. open boot and disconnect the neg (-) terminal 2. leave disconnected for 5 minuets 3. touch the negative (-) lead to the positive (+) and hold it there for 30 seconds. 4. close boot lid manually. 5. press and hold pan roof open button. you may also have to reset the handbrake by holding down the foot brake and applying the handbrake. after doing this mine is all working fine even on the remote fob. hope this might help anyone else with the same issue i had.
  37. You're welcome - as an afterthought, if it's not sensing the CKP, it could be the other sensor is doing what it should but as there's an incorrect signal from the CKP, it reads the other one as faulty too. I'd do a reset after fitting the CKP and see what you've got.
  38. Welcome aboard and GLWTS - always wanted an XJ-S of that age and it has the twin headlamp conversion i've always preferred. Sadly i recently splashed out on something for practical purposes rather than an "occasional" car or i'd be biting your had off - i'm sure someone else will feel like i do so i doubt it'll hang around for long!
