  2. Press the lock/arm button on the fob rapidly about 6-10 times. Also if you have a spare key, check whether it will start with that, it's not unknown for a key with an RFID chip inside for the immobiliser to "lose" it's code and cease to operate the immobiliser disarm. Are you able to read the DTCs at all?
  3. I purchased an x100 1999 XKR in June, I have always loved these cars, never owned one before. It ran perfectly fine until I went away for 2 weeks and the battery had obviously gone flat, once charged I tried to restart the the car and the system check goes ahead but the car will not crank, long story short I have gone through every fuse, SLM module and ultimately found that the immobiliser has disabled the engine, how do I reset the immobiliser? Have tried to get an auto locksmith to come and have a look at it, but not a single soul seems interested, most frustrating, I am based near Bishops stortford, if anyone has any suggestions as to who I can call, or ultimately if I can sort this out myself, I would be grateful.

  5. Hi everyone, driving down the motorway today my EML came on. Car is 2.0D 2017 125000 miles booked in to Halfords next to work to at least diagnose as no other symptoms and they read the following codes: p2BAE-00 NOx Exceedance P25A9-13 piston Cooling oil circuit/open P049B-00 Exhaust Gas recirculation like I say no other symptoms. Had a google of these and a few different things come up as expected. Not clear which one triggered the EML but seeing things from Ad-Blue sensor mucky or failing piston solonoid failing or more onerous the timing chain is loose and cause this error. I know Inginium engines have timing chain issues so one to monitor but don’t have a low oil warning or any issues with oil level? The garage reset the codes and they didn’t come back on but I’ve bought a carissa monitor so can at least monitor what comes back up more readily. Also bought some wynns fuel and ad blue cleaning incase it is just mucky sensors. Any advice on what to check or keep an eye out for? Like I say 125000k miles so wondering if I should be looking at timing chain replacement regardless 🤔

  8. OK OK OK I know I just keep asking questions, BUT you guys/girls have done it to yourselves by being so helpful 😁😁 I have a lot of niggly problems with this car but for some reason I want to keep it and fix it, the front shocks are leaking and need replacing, looking around trying to find front strut assemblies without selling my bottom on the streets is not an option (Yes I have the CATs system) my question is can I just install normal Struts and not reconnect the CATs wires and if so will it cause any issues ? See a simple question NOT Thank you in advance for your help. Gary Alias Jagvette1 on You Tube
  9. I came across Suffolk Sportscars (as i think they were called then) some 35 years ago when their range was just the one model, think it was a D Type replica or similar. First time i've seen one of their SS100 models and first knowledge i had of that model reincarnation. Beautiful to see and learn of its existence though.
  10. Gorgeous!!!!
  11. thank you i have nothing not even a click when i try to operate the roof, it was working fine as were the blinds before it went to workshop, they asked if it was working i said yes but never tested it till i was home, he had an obd reader on it and said no roof module detected, i assumed he had re programmed it, the garage is 2 hours away or i would take it back, i will check the plug on the fan to see it it is loose or indeed not plugged in and let you know again thanks for the suggestions
  12. I thought an update may be in order. I took the "dodgy" risk of not locking the car whilst it was on the boat, it I believed worked, we sailed through the remnants of Storm Bernard it was a bit (ok very!) bumpy and the old girl fired up when we got to port. On return I could hear a lot of alarms going of, though not ours. Yipee Thanks for all the suggestions
  13. Hi Graham, sounds like an unfortunate experience there, but hopefully you can get it all back and working again. For the roof, you need to test with a multi meter that voltages are getting to the correct place, i.e. the correct fuse - remember that a fuse can "look" fine but only a resistance test would confirm, - the switch in the roof, etc. Can you hear any relay clicks as the roof switch is operated? In normal circumstances, the operation of the roof would not be linked to the replacement engine, but with Jaguar you never can tell. For the fan 1, could it be as simple as a connector loose / not reseated correctly after the engine installation. The fan should generate a fault code (DTC) of some description which can be read with an OBD code reader, which in turn would help point you in the right direction. N6 JMX
  14. Thanks for the reply I have already mentioned the battery a few times to the garage I bought it from. The car is going back to Jag on Monday fingers crossed Jag can sort it....
  15. good day to you, i had my XJ (x351) engine let go big time, i managed to source a low milage engine from an rear end accident damaged car, the car went to a jaguar landrover specialist to have the change done, since i got it back i have 2 faults, fan 1 control circuit and the pan roof is not working, any advice would be appreciated, i have done the obvious reset holding the forward button on the roof also checked every fuse in the 3 fuse boxes and none had blown, obviously the battery was disconnected for quite a while, not sure if this might have any bearing on the problem at all. any help or advice that i am able to do myself i would be grateful, i am pretty handy with a spanner so willing to have a go, plus after paying for a replacement engine and fitting has left the coffers somewhat low, many thanks for any help Graham
  16. Hi All, New to the forum, so please let me know if this isn’t the right place to post. I own a 2012 Jaguar XKR 5.0 SC (X150) which has developed an intermittent starting issue. When I go through the normal starting procedure, I get a single click but no crank from the starter motor. Naturally, this appears to not be receiving the voltage needed to crank. Please Note: I’ve already replaced the battery, and spent quite a bit of time and money diagnosing this problem with various garages (including some JLR specialists), but so far, no luck. The following parts have just been replaced with OEM parts from JLR (thankfully most under warranty). Parts replaced over the past couple of months: Battery (Yuasa) Starter motor (OEM) Battery negative terminal loom (OEM) Charged battery to full on CTEK charger, and issue persists even with a full battery or jump pack. Originally, the fault threw up DTC codes related to the camshaft position sensors (both banks), but I’ve since been told that’s a false flag caused by low voltage during cranking. My readings show 12.6V at the rear battery, but only around 11.3V reaching the front — clearly indicating voltage drop somewhere along the line. I’m now troubleshooting this myself on the driveway. The warranty company were great and covered most of the above work, but as the policy has expired (and can’t be renewed with an ongoing fault), I’m on my own for the next steps. Interestingly, this weekend I've spotted a small amount of water ingress, in the right-hand side boot where the FM antenna booster module (C2P2761) sits. I've removed the module and the car has started perfectly a couple of times. This is unusual given recent months, but certainly welcome! Has anyone experienced this issue before or can point me in the right direction on what to check next? - One area of focus now is the earth straps... However, I cannot find an easy to follow diagram of where the main earth straps are on the car. I have spoken with JLR parts locally, and C2C8864 - Jaguar Earth strap is no longer available. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Mick
  17. Friendly local Timpsons?
  18. What i did was got some 5mm thick angle aluminium, drilled some holes in the right place and fitted nutserts in. Then using some penny washers through the remains of the crash bar, bolted the aluminium to it. Then (i'd previously drilled holes and nutserts for the exhaust hanger) i bolted the hanger to it. Nobody would ever know and Mr MoT man gave a nod of approval.
  19. Here is your used alternative; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/197751468611?_ul=UK&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338703918&toolid=20006&_xiid=197751468611&customid=EAIaIQobChMIipLg2bjRkAMVoqNQBh29ogBWEAQYFiABEgJgKfD_BwE|0AAAAADtppYcNTR6U4rnW9mO8rbJto69ha|CkwKCAjwvJHIBhBGEjwAKJvepBSJCYniFF2Fn977LumwU7BaVEIxMjd51uOJ0X3MJexILgPeHIYyDxa52OW1kieKNgoZRC1YcB0aAjxl&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIipLg2bjRkAMVoqNQBh29ogBWEAQYFiABEgJgKfD_BwE&gbraid=0AAAAADtppYcNTR6U4rnW9mO8rbJto69ha&wbraid=CkwKCAjwvJHIBhBGEjwAKJvepBSJCYniFF2Fn977LumwU7BaVEIxMjd51uOJ0X3MJexILgPeHIYyDxa52OW1kieKNgoZRC1YcB0aAjxl&loc_interest_ms=&loc_physical_ms=9046368&adtype=pla&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23120818549&gbraid=0AAAAADtppYcNTR6U4rnW9mO8rbJto69ha
  20. Thanks...have now fixed with another new battery & slightly bending contacts to align.
  21. Anyone know a good place to get my key programmed in Lincolnshire, I have the key cut and new internals, Thanks
  22. Hi Guys, The exhaust is hanging on my XF 2011 and I took it to a garage and both have said that I need a new rear crash bar due to corrosion. Does anyone have any for sale? Jaguar is quoting £830 which is far too expensive. I am in the Manchester area if there are any good garages that can maybe weld some new exhaust brackets or whatever instead? Who else has had this problem and what was the solution? Intrigued to know, thank you 🙂
  23. Hi guys Got the same issue, need a rear crash bar, Anyone with a spare or recommend an alternative solution? Any good welders? In the manchester area. Thanks
  24. Quick update: Cleaning the plug and socket didn't work, it looks like there is damage on the BCM board. Thankfully there is a Jag specialist with an electronics Wizz nearby so I'm going to whip the bcm out over the weekend and take it down there. They said it should be plug and play once they've re-pinned it but they want me to bring the car down after so they can re-pin the plug as well. I should know in about a week if it's worked or not. If not I'm guessing I'll have to fork out for a new bcm and programming from JLR main dealer. Alex
  25. Have you "told" the car it has a new battery? The car's brain needs to be informed that there is a new battery fitted so it adjusts the charging rates from the alternator. Use either a decent code reader, or a friendly local garage with the appropriate diagnostic equipment. Alternatively, may be something more insidious in the ECU or wiring. N6 JMX
  26. OK, I know these code/problems are covered in this wonderful forum, BUT I wonder what is the most common problem and can you guys give me a head start to solving them ? Transmission problems Code P0706 and P0730 Do note, I have 167,000 miles on the car I have just replaced the solenoid block/filter and fluid (the faults were there before) Emissions code P0430 dat damn Cadillac (many Americans I have met call it that) cunvorter error, OR just an oxygen sensor ? Any help to shortcut fixing these errors would be gratefully received. Gary
  27. hi jim thank you for getting back to me . i will contact them thanks agin allan
  28. Very likely to be the cause! Good luck with the clean up!
