Return to Jaguar

Hi everyone, I've took delivery of my new XF 3.0 diesel S Portfolio on the 1st September (existing model not the new shape) first Jaguar I've owned in nearly 10 years having converted to Merc's as I got bored with the X Type styling. I've just returned from a week in Cornwall the car now having the grand mileage of 1,100 miles on the clock, love the car it out performers the Merc (CLS 350) by far, only gripe and quite a serious one! I caught the from bumper in the first week due to me foolishly expecting the front Park Assist to be on! Not realizing that you have to turn it on!! As it happens upon collecting the car I found a fault with the paintwork on the front bumper and the dealer agreed to fit a new one upon my return from Cornwall, thank goodness!

hi alan welcome to the club, new xf nice one enjoy have you tried it in "sport" then press the "dynamic button yet ^_^

Hi Alan, and Welcome to the club.

The Park assists are useful but still need care.  I swing my car round on the drive so that I can drive out into the road, and I get the front beeps as I get close to the hedge, and then the rear beeps as the boot gets close to a wall.

Enjoy you Jaguar.

Regards,

Peter.

Not tried 'Sport' mode yet, I'm sure I will in due course when I get used to the cars handling as it is, can't wait.

alan the xf  3.0l s is a beast in the sport and dynamic mode not much can keep up with it, mercs, bms, audis all fail enjoy

Hi Alan,  the XF 3.0 litre diesel is the successor to the S Type 2.7 litre diesel and has similar  performance although somewhat improved.

The second turbo on the s type comes in at 2000rpm [70mph] and I would expect similar on the XF.  Driving with the S button pressed gives a real kick in power, but a worse fuel consumption.

I might be guessing incorrectly but I don't think the XF diesel  3.0 litre has a dynamic mode.

Regards,

Peter/

The XF 3.0 'S' does indeed have the 'dynamic mode'.
