Engine Oil For Diesel Engine

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon,

It is time for my car to be serviced and I have booked it in at my trusted local garage. However, as he is a one-man-band and is not VAT registered, I am going to buy the oil and filters myself in order to claim back the VAT on these items.

The owner's handbook says that the oil I need must meet 5w30 WSS M2C913B spec. I have found Ford/Castrol Magnatec at a good price but this is 5w30 WSS M2C913D. Is this still OK to put in my Jaguar's engine?

Thank you.

"D" is the later grade David and is recommended replacement where "B" grade was originally specified.

"A product meeting this specification is especially recommended for diesel engines where M2C913-B or M2C913-C oils were initially required."
