My First Jaguar

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I've just purchased my first Jaguar, a 2005 S Type 2.7 diesel Sport, in dark grey with black leather with 108,000 miles.

It drove very well on the test drive.  I pick it up next weekend after the garage have fixed a few problems (mainly electrical) and done a new MOT.

I'm sure I'll be turning to the forum for advice soon enough!  I know one of the first jobs will be to replace the nearside rear window trim, which is bubbling with rust and lifting away slightly. Does anyone have advice on where to get the trim and how to fit it?  It's in black, rather than chrome finish.

Welcome to the Club, Ross.

The 2.7 diesel is a very good engine, but you must give it a longish run at least once a month to regenerate the DPF  --  a great excuse for a good day out!

You might be able to get the trim from a Jaguar breaker, but the it possible to get some new fro, some one like SNG Barrett or the David Manners group.

I hope you enjoy the club and your S Type.

Regards,

Peter.
