Just bought my new XK, first Jaguar since I sold my XJR back, oh years ago.  Pushed my budget to accommodate a 2010 5.0l one owner 50k miler with what, in my opinion, are the right colours I.e. Grey with cream leather, brushed aluminium with the piano black central insert.

its gone straight into my independent specialist and has had a couple of things done, get it back today, looking forward to getting to know her!

Welcome to the Club, David.

The XK is a future classic and I often see one over 10 years old in the Supermarket car park belonging to a lady who has had it from new and who can't bear to part with it.

Regards,

Peter.

Yes if took me a while to get the 'right' colour combination.

You couldn't help me in my efforts to tap into the sound system with my iPhone 6 by any chance.  Phone works perfectly on Bluetooth but I can't play any of the music from my phone........

Hi David,

Actually I can.  Another member, Tigger, wanted to do the same thing and came up with little widget via Amazon call the V1 Car - a company called Anglink.  It is tested both by Tigger and my son whose X type now has one cost £16.99.

There are others around at various prices but this one is tried and proven, and works with his iPhone 6 just by plugging it into the power socket.

Thanks to Tigger I know it works, and by next weekend you can be enjoying your music.

Regards,

Peter.

You are very kind but I have the USB port and iPod port in the armrest and really want to use the OEM system I just can't the definitive answer - you need this (X) to interface with an iPhone 6 and play Apple Music files. I can't believe no one else has not had this issue and resolved it. The way I see it this would mean my Bluetooth phone connection will also remain 100% functional. I don't like add on bits in an otherwise uncluttered cabin (the reason I put up with a less than perfect satnav in my Mercedes where a stick on tomtom is far superior).

I find it odd that it's supposed to play an iPod and I get nothing from an iPhone but I realise that the car is 2010 technology. Any solutions gratefully received.

Thanks.....

I finally sorted the interface by biting the bullet and spending £25 at an Apple Store for the adapter to go between the old multi pin and the new lightening connector.

It seems there's a bit of software in the adapter (which is why the ones on flea bay for a fiver don't work). Anyway it works perfectly so if anyone else experiences the same issue, this is the proper solution.
