2001 5r55n gearbox oil grade

Hey all 

Having the 5r55n 5 speed ford box im aware that mercon v is the recommended Oil grade unlike the zf boxes, however on visiting my local motor factors today they looked it up in there book and offered me Dex IID which is a mineral based Oil.

Is this really the same before i use it many thanks
