  1. Need to read error codes. My previous experience is that it would also display DPF full. I had a yellow error message regarding DPF so I would presume that this would have displayed giving you prior warning. Hope you find a solution.
  2. Hi Ian I have them on my 2012 XF Portfolio. Exerts from handbook. DRIVING POSITION MEMORY 1. Memory presets. 2. Memory set button. Once you have adjusted the driver's seat, steering column (see 22, ADJUSTING THE STEERING WHEEL ) and exterior mirrors (see 44, EXTERIOR MIRRORS ), the vehicle can memorise these settings using the driver memory buttons. Once the passenger seat has been adjusted as desired, these settings can be memorised using the passenger memory buttons. 1. Press the memory set button to activate the memory function. 2. Press one of the preset buttons within 5 seconds to memorise the current settings. For the driver’s settings, MEMORY 1 (or 2) SETTINGS SAVED will be displayed on the message centre accompanied by an audible chime to confirm the settings have been memorised. A seat position can only be memorised during the five second period. Any existing settings for a memory preset will be over-written when programming a memory position. RECALLING A MEMORISED POSITION Press the appropriate memory preset button (for the driver’s settings, MEMORY 1 (or 2) SETTINGS RECALLED will be displayed in the message centre). SITTING IN THE CORRECT POSITION The driver and front passenger must not ride with the seat fully reclined. Do not adjust the seat while the vehicle is moving. The seat, head restraint, seat belt and airbags, all contribute to the protection of the user. Correct use of these components will give you greater protection, therefore you should observe the following points: 1. Sit in an upright position with the base of your spine as far back as possible and the seat back reclined no more than 30 degrees
  3. Could not clear the yellow warning telling me Blind Spot not detected although not a major problem I found the message annoying. I found the correct mirror on Allegro (Polish Ebay) for £120.00. The mirror was in fantastic condition and I fitted immediately upon receipt, fully working Indicator, blind spot detector, puddle light, auto fold, reversing dip and no yellow warning message 😊
  4. Thanks Vic, scoured the internet but could not find anything. Thought I might be able to do it through my diagnostics but no luck,
  5. Well, managed to remove door panel and mirror successfully. However I did find that my mirror was a 16 pin and the s/hand purchase was 14 pin obviously the extra pins are for the blind spot detection. I have installed it as it was in great condition and only cost £30. Everything works auto fold, indicator, puddle light and reverse auto dip but I have yellow warning for blind spot error, irritating but small price to pay. Is there any way of disabling the blind spot function?
  6. Sorted, not as bad as I thought.

  8. Has anyone removed a passenger door panel? I have removed the two 30 Tork screws in the arm rest and the 20 Tork screw secreted behind the triangular plastic cover. You are now allegedly able to remove the panel. I have gingerly tried but seems pretty tight, don't want to force in case I cause any damage. Comments and tips extremely welcome. I need to get access to the door mirror plug to check number of pins to ensure I get the correct replacement.
  9. Came back to my car found someone had smashed the casing. I have bought a second hand one online it was a 2011 model with 14 pin plug which i thought would be ok but noticed the mirror does not have the overtaking warning symbols. Will it be ok or will it throw up errors? Any comments/ suggestions welcome. Mine is The Portfolio version of 2012 XF 2.2D.
  10. Hi Rob, I had a similar problem replaced the pump, problem solved.
  11. Hi Paul, you need to check the error codes. I had this problem and found it to be a split hose. Car ran perfectly until you gave it some gas and then into Restricted mode. Turn off engine and 10/15 minutes later it would be clear. There are quite a few reasons why this is happening so get a diagnostics check is my advice. Good luck.
  12. Thanks for the reply Luke. Not aware that it is a portfolio but will look into it. What are the higher trim levels? I do have cream seats with a black trim??? Regards Frank
  13. Puzzled most Jaguar XF's I've looked at only have two or three adjusters, my 2012 XF has four. Is this an extra when purchase, just curious.
